What is Outlook Express?

Outlook Express is an email client that you can use to read your email.  It's easy, simple and quick. Outlook Express is bundled with Internet Explorer and is, therefore, probably already installed on your computer. Using Outlook Express as an e-mail client will work for all customers who have Internet access or web hosting with WADSNET.COM.

Why use Outlook Express?

Outlook Express will allow you to download your e-mail to your home or office computer. Downloaded messages are available anytime (not just when online) and are no longer taking up your valuable disk space on the WADSNET servers. Regularly downloading your messages with a program such as Outlook Express ensures that you will not exceed your disk quota.

FAQ about Outlook Express?

  1. Can I use WebMail and Outlook Express?
-- Yes. These two applications work well together. Outlook Express can be used to retrieve your messages when you are at home or work. However, when you travel, WebMail is a handy way of viewing new messages that you have not yet downloaded via Outlook Express.
  2. Outlook Express received the email but WebMail did not.
-- This is because Outlook Express downloaded the email to your computer. Therefore, that message is no longer on the mail server and is not available to the WebMail client.
  3. I stored a message in a folder I created on WebMail, but I did not get it in Outlook Express.
-- Once a message is stored in a folder using WebMail, your other email clients will not be able to read it.
  4. I emptied my trash in Outlook Express.  How do I retrieve my emails back?
-- There's no way to retrieve permanently deleted emails.
  5. Is there an Outlook Express tutorial?
-- Yes. WADSNET has provided an online tutorial for both WebMail and Outlook Express. Access these by using the links to the left or the Outlook Express Tutorial link below.
  6. What if I have other questions?
-- If you have other questions, try the Microsoft Outlook Express FAQ or give us a call at WADSNET.
