How to disable AOL or your dial-up when starting your browser.

1. Open control Panel ( START --> SETTINGS --> CONTROL PANEL or  START --> CONTROL PANEL ) 
2. Double click on Internet Options (Win 98 or higher ) or Internet (Win 95) Icon.
3. The following dialog window appears.  Click on the Connections tab.
   
4. Choose "Never dial a connection" and click on Apply
5. Click on the SETUP button and follow the Internet connection wizard.
