Configure Outlook 2000 - Setup

To set up Outlook 2000:
  1. Select Accounts from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Add button and then the Mail button to launch the Setup Wizard.
  3. Enter your name as you wish it to appear in the From field and click the Next button when done.
  4. Enter your e-mail address in the username@wadsnet.com format in the e-mail address field and click the Next button when complete.
  5. In the Email Server Names window, select POP3 from the drop-down list if it is not displayed.
  6. Enter mail.wadsnet.com in the Incoming Mail Server field.
  7. Enter smtp.wadsnet.com in the Outgoing Mail Server field.
  8. Click the Next button when complete.
  9. In the Internet Mail Logon window, enter your e-mail account name (username@wadsnet.com) in the Account Name field.
  10. Enter your password. You may optionally click to mark the checkbox if you wish Outlook to remember your password. Click the Next button when complete.
  11. Click the Advanced Options radio button (a window will display).
  12. In the connection method window, specify Connect using My local area network (LAN).
  13. Click the Next button and then the Finish button to complete.
  14. Then from the Tools menu, select (click) Accounts...
  15. In the "Internet Accounts" dialog box:
    1. Click the Mail tab.
    2. Select the email account to be SMTP-authenticated.
    3. Click the Properties… button.
  16. In the "Account Properties" dialog box:
    1. Click the Server tab.
    2. Check My outgoing server requires authentication
    3. Click the Settings button.
  17. In the "Outgoing Mail Server" dialog box:
    1. Check Use same settings as my incoming mail server
    2. Click OK to close the "Outgoing Mail Server" dialog box.
  18. Click OK to close the "Account Properties" dialog box
  19. Click Close to close the "Internet Accounts" dialog box
  20. Email is ready to use!
