| How to fix Winsock problems on Windows 98 |

| 1. Backup your registry. To do
this, go to START and click on RUN. Then type in REGEDIT.

| 2. Select MY COMPUTER. Click on
FILE, then choose EXPORT. Save the backup registry file to the
desktop.

| 7. Now we need to
delete WINSOCK and WINSOCK2. To do this, double-click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Then SYSTEM. Then CURRENTCONTROLSET. Finally SERVICES. Right click on WINSOCK and click DELETE. Do the same thing for WINSOCK2.

| 8. Now we need to re-install
TCP/IP. To do this, go to START and then the CONTROL PANEL. Double-click on
NETWORK CONNECTIONS. Right click on the Network Connection, and
select PROPERTIES. Then click INSTALL, select PROTOCOL and click ADD.

| 9. Click on HAVE DISK. Replace A:\
with C:\WINDOWS\INF and click OK. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and
click OK. Click OK/Close to get out of the LAN Properties. Restart Windows.
